Remembering Virginia Choate
Virginia Choate left a lasting impression on the Pentacle Theatre community.
Following her passing, people who knew and cared about Virginia helped create a way for her values to continue influencing the theatre. Her friend Lois Hanson was part of the steering committee that developed guidelines for the Virginia Choate Endowment Fund.
Through the fund, Virginia’s legacy continues to shape the stories Pentacle brings to the stage and the conversations they inspire.

Each year, Pentacle Theatre’s Play Reading Committee selects a production with Virginia’s values in mind.

Each year’s production serves as a continuing tribute to Virginia. Her photograph and a remembrance of her contribution to Pentacle Theatre are included in the production program, and her cousin, Jim Davis of North Side Electric, is invited to attend as part of the tradition.
