Background

This newly established scholarship honors the decades of Pentacle Volunteer Alice Mary Norton. In 1994, Alice was selected as the first recipient of the Claytene Vick VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD. Her volunteerism extended 35 years. Over those years, she was involved in a wide range of theatre support roles including docent, building sets, stage management, sound, lights, props, play reading, and fund raising as the long time Benefit Chairperson. Alice's dedication, commitment and service were acknowledged in 2014 when she was selected to become a Pentacle Theatre Lifetime Member.

Eligibility

  • Be a current Pentacle Theatre volunteer who has provided some form of volunteer services during the 12 months preceding the date the scholarship application submissions are announced.
  • Anyone who has volunteered time or efforts in support of Pentacle Theatre is eligible to apply directly for themselves or on behalf of a designated recipient.
  • A designated recipient does not have to be related to the volunteer.
  • The scholarship is available to area high school, home-schooled students or adults applying for continuing education.
  • Applications will be considered only for qualified applicants, and only if all parts are complete with required documentation, received by the deadline.

Deadline - Feb 28, 2025

Scholarships are intended for students (minor or adult) who will be enrolled full time in either an accredited college or post high school arts training program. The scholarship must be distributed directly to the educational institution no later than May 31, 2026. No direct awards will be made to students.
