Pentacle Theatre welcomes you to Transylvania with its first musical of the 2015 regular season. The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein sets Mel Brooks’ classic celebration of 1930s horror films to music while losing none of its brash and bawdy humor.

Robert Salberg directs this hilarious show featuring the vocal and dancing talents of Jed Kercher as Fredrick, Jeff Witt as Igor, Geri Sanders as Inga, Heather Toller as Elizabeth, Ken Hermens as the Hermit, Matt Woolsey as Kemp, Lyndsey Fields-Houser as Frau Blucher, James Owens as Victor Frankenstein and Brett Hochstetler as The Monster. A skilled ensemble and production team supports the principals.

Young Frankenstein opens Friday, March 6 and runs through Saturday, March 28. The production is generously sponsored by Jim Witt, State Farm Insurance.

Young Frankenstein tells the story of Fredrick Frankenstein, grandson of infamous monster creator Victor Frankenstein, who inherits his family estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the shoes of his mad genius ancestor. “It’s alive!” he exclaims, as he creates a creature to rival his grandfather’s. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity ensues. You know where this is going, right?
