[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9775″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]What steps will you take to ensure the financial health of Pentacle Theatre?

To be an excellent steward of the theater’s current resources and assist the board in sourcing further means.

Describe how you will represent the theater.

With a welcoming ear, thoughtful consideration, and kindly mien.

What volunteer work have you done for Pentacle Theatre?

I have participated in plays: acting, set construction, painting, light hangs, &c. I have also volunteered as House Manager for several productions as well as working concessions and the box office.

What is your day job? What is your level of responsibility at this job? What other relevant experience or education will you bring to board service.

My profession is that of Clinical Pharmacist; in many ways I am a medical advisor. My guidance and decision-making inform other members of the health care team. My actions improve and sustain the quality of life of the patients under my charge. Errors can lead to injury or death, so I endeavor to not make any. An aspect of this position is that I converse with people from many walks of life, and this helps give me perspective into their lives.

Please describe the skills and core competencies that you will bring to the board.

Among other leadership roles, I have been on two governing boards, the Vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (three-year term) and the Board of Directors for Salem Community Acupuncture (three years). I have been on the planning committee for the yearly OPAT Conference (Opioid, Pain, Addiction, Treatment) since 2018. We plan a state-wide conference, inviting stakeholders from public health organizations, government agencies, health care professions, tribal leaders, and others.

I bring the experience of listening to a wide variety of human experience, make decisions on income, cash flow, and expenditures, and looking to find ways to find solutions to the needs of communities rather than making communities accept poorly matched solutions.

What do you like most about Pentacle Theatre?

Making the magic that transports people elsewhere for a while.

Please describe your goals for your three-year term, if elected.

Pentacle Theatre has been an excellent creative outlet for my family, and I wish to contribute to the organization’s ongoing vitality.

To maintain and strengthen the organization’s financial resources. To look towards planned expansions and plan appropriately to lay a strong foundation for such. To increase the diversity so that more people feel welcome to attend, participate, and enhance Pentacle Theatre.

Pentacle Theatre is on a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion journey. Please describe your commitment to this kind of work and why it is important in an arts organization.

Through my work I have become well acquainted with the inequities in health care. While Theater can, and should, inform, it also offers respite. With greater diversity of productions, artists, and themes we can offer a better shelter from the world for some who have found it here only imperfectly, if at all.
