Pentacle Theatre opens its 2022 season with the modern comedy, Over the River and Through the Woods, by Joe DiPietro, directed by Jo Dodge. The show runs Feb. 4-26.

Nick is a single Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. That doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is routine until Nick has to tell them he’s been offered a dream job. The job he’s been waiting for—marketing executive—means moving to Seattle, far away from his beloved, but annoying, grandparents.

Nick tells them. The news doesn’t sit so well. How could he betray his family’s love to move to Seattle, for a job, wonder his grandparents? Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around.

Meet the cast:

  • Zach DuFault as Nick Cristano—A single and up-and-coming professional.
  • Deborah Goins Johansen as Aida Gianelli — Nick’s maternal grandmother.
  • Walter Haight as Frank Gianelli—Nick’s maternal grandfather.
  • Tim Jaeger as Nunzio Cristano—Nick’s paternal grandfather.
  • Jennifer Gimzewski as Emma Cristano—Nick’s paternal grandmother.
  • Allison Reid as Caitlin O’Hare—A single young nurse Nick’s grandparents invite to dinner in hopes of sparking a romance that will keep Nick from moving to Seattle.
