COVID-19 audience update #2 March 12, 2020
To Pentacle Theatre’s valued patrons and community members,
The safety of our patrons, volunteers and staff is a top priority. We are monitoring the evolving Coronavirus/COVID-19 situation closely, and we will be following the protocols recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to keep our community safe.
Many of you have questions about our status after Governor Brown canceled events larger than 250 people. Our theatre seats just 191 people. We have not canceled any performances at this time. The cast of The Cake is willing to perform for those who choose to attend.
If you do not want to exchange or use your ticket, please consider donating it back to the theater. As you can imagine, this illness will likely have a financial impact on a non-profit like ours. Your donation will go to offset the production costs that have already been incurred and will assist with providing future Pentacle productions.
A reminder that we are taking recommended prevention and response measures, including:
- On-site prevention measures, including increasing the frequency of our cleaning. We’re disinfecting seat arms, door handles and other surfaces daily.
- Stocking our bathrooms with plenty of soap.
- Encouraging all staff members and volunteers to stay home if they feel unwell.
- Actively monitoring the recommendations from the CDC, WHO, and OHA and implement best-practices accordingly.
We offer a generous ticket exchange policy: If you don’t feel well enough to come to the theater, our staff is ready to assist you to find another day to attend. There will be no additional fees for ticket exchanges. Contact us in the next week at 503-485-4300 or tickets@pentacletheatre.org.
We understand that this is a dynamic, quickly changing situation. As always, we will communicate clearly and directly about our plans and activities to continue to provide great theater in the safest possible environment.
