What:  Open auditions for 9 to 5: The Musical, a musical based on the 1980 movie of the same name, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. It features a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the screenplay by Resnick and Colin Higgins.

When:  1 p.m., Saturday, May 21.

Where:  Pentacle Theatre Lobby, 324 52nd Avenue NW, Salem, Oregon

Auditions: Prepare a pop song, or country pop song, from the late 80’s/early 90’s, that best fits and showcases your vocal range.  Limit your selection to 1 minute (about 32 bars) of a song that matches the character(s) for which you are most interested in playing.  Pentacle Theatre will provide an accompanist. Dress comfortably and be ready to move and dance.

Bring:  Sheet music for the accompanist if you plan to use the one provided. You can use an accompaniment CD or you can bring your own accompanist. A list of your conflicts and your calendar.

 

Rehearsals: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at the theater’s rehearsal studio. The director will set weekend rehearsals and work sessions as needed.
